Short irreverent one act play about the creation of Adam, Eve and the garden of Eden.

God has some difficult decisions to make and Adam is no help; what is required is a woman…and then the trouble starts!

CURTAINS OPEN TO DARK QUIET STAGE , BACK SCENE CONSISTING OF WOODLAND GLADE WITH ONE TREE PROMINENT IN THE CENTRE.

RUMBLE OF THUNDER IS HEARD FOLLOWED BY A FLASH OF LIGHTNING AND ADAM STAGGERS ONTO STAGE FROM THE LEFT.

HE IS DRESSED IN A FLESH COLOURED BODY SUIT AND A LARGE FIG LEAF IS STRATEGICALLY PLACED OVER HIS GENITALS.

HE GAZES ABOUT AND FINALLY LOOKS UP AT THE SKY.

ADAM: Ok. ok,  so you want to speak…no need to make such a fuss and nonsense about it all the time , just a quiet word in the ear would do.

AN ETHEREAL COMMANDING VOICE IS HEARD APPARENTLY FROM ABOVE

GOD:  Man ! I have created thee in mine own image

ADAM:  For goodness sake , my name is ADAM , you should know !

GOD: Thy name is of little consequence in the overall scheme of things

ADAM:  Oh please , not another lecture on what a wonderful creature you are and how you’re going to guide the world to great things

GOD:  My plans for this tiny microcosm are beyond thy puny comprehension mortal

ADAM:  So much for creating me in your own image

GOD:  Thou hast mine physical attributes ……

ADAM:  You were at the end of the queue too then
