A bawdy rhyming version of George and the Dragon. Great for use at outdoor events such as Fayres, Craft Fayres, music festivals.

Read a sample here:

(The Bard, Damsel, Mother, Friar and the Hero emerge into the crowd arguing loudly amongst themselves. The Damsel sits down drinking from a pint pot and vigorously picking and blowing her nose. The Hero moves off and sits with head in hands. After a while the Bard breaks free and addresses the people)

Bard:  Come gather good people

Bend an ear to our tale

           Come sit on your bums

           And sup our good ale

Friar: A story so strange it’ll

            Rattle yer brains

            And send yer blood

            Bubblin’ hot through yer veins

Bard:   It concerns a fair Damsel (Damsel gets up, burps and bows)
And her sweet natured mum (Mother growls and shakes her fist) A brave Knight and Hero (Hero minces forward and gives a huge bow then returns to his   place some way away)
And a Friar well done (Friar raises his tankard and hiccoughs loudly)

But we’ll start with a song

We’ll give you a ditty (Bard unslings his guitar, all other cast members groan loudly)

Mother: To help fill our coffers (bends at the waist and pulls her blouse forward)

Friar: My! There’s a fine titty!

(Mother slaps Friar as Bard begins to play and sing Greensleeves very badly.

During the song the Mother and Friar go amongst the crowd exhorting them for coins but after a short while they stop and start to give the money back….or give out sweets to the kids for listening to such appalling singing. The Friar puts his hand over the guitar strings and stops the playing.)
